AGIC Rating Scheme Accreditation Process

  1. A company seeking to apply for an AGIC rating for their infrastructure project nominates a representative to attend a one day assessor course.  The representative receives training on the AGIC Rating Tool. Upon completion of the course, the representative becomes an accredited AGIC Assessor.

The Rating Tool includes the use of the technical manual, scoring spreadsheet tool, case studies, application mechanism, assessment process, verification and certification.

The technical manual outlines the eligibility criteria, rating points system and supporting information to assist companies or organisations in setting up their internal AGIC assessment processes and systems.

The scoring spreadsheet is an excel database and measures project performance according to appropriate benchmarks for multiple sustainability categories.

The case studies provide in depth scenarios to assist applicants to better understand the rating tool.

  2. The accredited AGIC Assessor rates their own organisation’s project and submits their assessment to an accredited AGIC Verifier.
  3. The AGIC Verifier will review the application and may ask the assessor to clarify different aspects of the submission.  Applicants will have one month to respond. The revised application will subsequently be reviewed and verification may be awarded.

On verification of the assessment a certificate is awarded to the company securing an AGIC rating.

If an applicant has not had their submission verified, they can appeal to the Verification Appeals Panel made up of independent AGIC Board members.  The panel will determine the final outcome.

The sustainability rating scheme will be based on evaluation across seven categories and 28 sub categories.
