Infrastructure types

AGIC’s rating scheme is proposed to apply to:

• roads and tunnels
• railways and bridges
• airports
• ports and marinas
• cycle and pedestrian pathways
• telecommunication infrastructure
• water collection, distribution and treatment infrastructure
• Distribution grids
• Civil engineering headworks of industrial plants (ie capacity of site to host the plant and excluding the operational efficiency of the plant itself)

AGIC proposes adopting criteria within 15 sustainability categories to assess the sustainability outcomes associated with the procurement, design, construction, operation and decommissioning of infrastructure in Australia.  Each category will be weighted and contain a series of scored questions and performance criteria which enable an overall score (and award level) to be determined.  More information is available in the Interim Business Case (link).
